Eurofins Product Testing - Indoor Air Comfort - certified products
Eurofins is well known to be the world market leader for performing such tests in terms of capacity.
But a spot test does not tell us much about the properties of the product in future (e.g. after 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year). Clients and down-stream users may be in doubt.
-
Certification will help to establish trust, strengthening relationship between manufacturer and consumer.
-
Certification will also help the manufacturer to be prepared for reacting in an appropriate manner if complaints appear, either published in media, or sent in by individual customers.
Certification means:
-
After an initial characterisation test, an external surveillance system will identify changes in the promised product properties, allowing the manufacturer to take corrective action.
-
An easily visible certification mark allows the user to assume the correctness of the manufacturer's statements without further investigations. In any case, only an existing quality assurance system of the manufacturer will ensure sufficiently constant properties.
-
Depending on the nature of the certified product, external surveillance may comprise repeated testing on random samples in regular intervals, or the same plus inspection of the quality documentation during audits at the manufacturing site.

German ÜZ certification, CE mark
Eurofins is approved certification body ("ÜZ-Stelle") for the German Ü mark for floorings. Eurofins may offer both - VOC and formaldehyde emission testing and auditing / certification for floor coverings in Germany. These products need a special German "Ü" approval of low emissions, besides the CE mark, before they are allowed to be used in most indoor applications.
Eurofins also is on its way to become notified body for CE marking of floor coverings.
